Dr. Jacob Deakins graduated from medical school in 2006 from St. Christopher College of Medicine at their United Kingdom campus. His residency training was completed through the University of Wyoming Family Medicine Residency Training Program in 2009. He is board certified in Family Medicine with a Fellowship in Wilderness Medicine and is certified in Advanced Bio-identical Hormone Replacement Therapy. He has practiced in private Primary Care as well as Emergency and Urgent Care Medicine. With his background he has come to see that the effects of chronic disease are dramatic, and attempting to combat the symptoms and not the cause is often futile. With that understanding, Dr. Deakins chooses to focus on wellness through proactive and preventative evidence base medicine such as nutrition, health coaching, and innovative therapies which address the root cause of many health issues. Dr. Deakins enjoys an active lifestyle here in the Pacific Northwest spending his time with his family outdoors snowboarding, biking, running, hiking, camping and fly fishing. He believes that true wellness starts with pursuing those activities that create joy, movement, and health.
Peter Deakins is a Registered Nurse, Co-owner and Practice Manager here at Inland Wellness & Vitality. Peter graduated from Gonzaga University with his Bachelors of Science in Nursing in 2011. Peter is level II certified in Active Integrated Radial Pulse Wave Therapy and is leading the way for this unique therapy here. Peter has had extensive patient care experience both in acute care and outpatient settings. He worked in the hospital setting for over a decade prior to, through, and after nursing school. He has worked in acute dialysis as well as critical care in the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit. Through his experience, Peter has also seen the devastating effects of chronic disease and illness. With this in mind, he was excited to help start a practice centered on wellness and preventive evidenced based medicine. Peter also enjoys staying active and healthy with Crossfit, Hiking, Fly Fishing, Camping, Snowboarding and spending time with family.
